A Rare pair of 19th cent French “Beauceron” Cast Iron Dogs
A fabulous and unusual true pair of French “Beauceron” cast iron dogs, dating to the 19th century, one facing left, one right. Would have been at the door or gates of a Chateau.
The Beauceron, is a guard dog and herding dog breed failing into the working dog category whose origins lie in the plains of Northern France, considered to be, fearless, intelligent, protective and friendly.
