A Winfield Rocking Chair with a slung black vinyl seat, with headrest and arms .

Late 19th Century

This style of chair is an evolution of the metal tubular rocking chair that Winfield first exhibited at Crystal Palace in London for The Great Exhibition of 1851. Winfield is listed in the various directories between 1835 and 1890 with having a factory in Birmingham and office in Fleet Street, London.
