Fantastic Pair of Terracotta Lion Masks

An important pair of late 19th century cast terracotta lion masks with impressed manufacturers marks ‘J.LOEBNITZ’, mounted for display, French, Circa 1880. The firm of Jules Loebnitz are known to have exhibited at the Paris World Fairs in the second half of the 19th century. Their work was favoured by and included in the collections of the Rothschild family.
