Outstanding 18th Cent Painted South German Clock

A fine quality circa 1753, continental 8 day clock , striking the hours on a single bell . The gilded brass break arch dial has a silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals . There is a domed silvered plaque in the arch depicting 1773 and a calendar aperture in the dial centre . There are cast spandrels in the dial corners . The fretted hands are bright steel .
