Unusual and large C20th Horse Sculpture by Dietrich Grüning
A wonderful and very striking, late 20th century sculpture of large proportions, in wood and Paris plaster of a standing horse stylized in the manner of Tang horses on an elongated rectangular base, by Dietrich Grüning.
Artist info: German sculptor (1940 Grünberg/Silesia to 2020 ), fled Silesia before the war and grew up in Eichsfeld, learned there first the profession of carpenter, then that of carver in the Thuringian Rhoen, from 1965 studied sculpture at the Berlin-Weissensee Art Academy, from 1972 freelance in Berlin, until 1990 member of the Association of Visual Artists of the GDR (VBK). This object comes from the estate of the artist.
