Original and bespoke Hand Stitch Cushion by Paul Bailie
Banded Flamestitch
This is a classic Florentine Stitch cushion in shades of red and pinks where the pattern is interrupted with vertical banding in malachite . This design was stitched to create tension between vertical and horizontal, between the delicate flow of the flame stitch and interruption on the eye of the monumental verticals.

About Paul Bailie:
An Irishman born and bred and now living and working in North Worcestershire with his partner Paddy O’Donnell, the renown International brand ambassador for Farrow & Ball.
Paul’s creative focus originated as a ceramics graduate who produced both domestic ware and exhibition pieces. After a break from the creative industries he found an new and inspirational path, working in and around textiles. This in turn has led to an obsession and love affair with the Florentine Stitch and the endless colourways that are now the core of his current pieces. Paul is also exploring more experimental needlework techniques and we look forward to working with him as the results are so very much in tune with Brownrigg’s own aesthetic.
Each Cushion takes approx 4 days to complete. Stitched in British wool and backed predominantly in English Wool Broadcloth used for Regimental Uniforms. The cushions can be ordered in any of 450 colours and customised with lines of vertical or horizontal banding . The cushions can also be customised with initials , dates etc
