Fine 17th / Early 18th Cent French Tapestry in Wool and Silk

A fine wool and silk tapestry from the workshops of Felletin (Creuse region), near Aubusson, France.
End of the 17th century, beginning of the 18th century
In a lake landscape, sheltered by lush green undergrowth, in the shade of old oaks, a pheasant and two aquatic birds frolic on the grassy banks, under the gaze of perched birds. Buildings on the hillsides are visible through gaps in the forest. Border with garlands of flowers and acanthus leaves.
