Early 19th Century Regency Period Ebonised Chaise Longue

An early 19th century English Regency period ebonised chaise longue, of elegant asymmetrical form, retaining its original gilt-brass mounts and raised on boldly outswept sabre supports terminating in finely cast brass lion’s paw caps and castors. The sweeping back and scrolled ends are enriched with gilt-brass rosettes and anthemion mounts, while the frieze is centred by an applied classical ormolu plaque.

Recently reupholstered by us in a warm ochre linen.
