Early C19th French Painted Sofa / Bench Upholstered in Colefax & Fowler Seaweed Fabric

A very elegant, early 19th century French painted beech sofa / bench, with a scrolled dished back above scallop shell headed arms and ring turned baluster terminals capped by roundels, over mille raie blocks and a bowed seat frame, flanked by lozenge tablet angles, each inset with a stylised flowerhead, on ring turned baluster tapering front legs terminating in bun feet, with square splayed rear legs. The sofa, retains its original paint and has recently been reupholstered by us in a Colefax & Fowler Seaweed fabric. Wear and tear on the frame commensurate with age and use. This elegant bench/ sofa will work well in most settings.
