Superb Set of 12 Art Deco English Chairs

A good set of twelve early 20th century English Art Deco oak and leather club elbow chairs, possibly by Hamptons, Pall Mall East, London, bearing label to underside AFT SMOKE ROOM, the stretcher stencilled E/BRITAIN or remnants thereof. Purportedly removed from the luxurious steam turbine ocean liner RMS Empress of Britain prior to her being torpedoed on the 28 October 1940, probably removed prior to 25 November 1939 as she was requisitioned as a troop transporter.
The chairs have been cleaned and restored to their original condition and retain their original tan leather. This comfortable and unusual set of 12 chairs will make great dining chairs.
