19th Century English Painted Chair in Robert Kime Fabric
19th Century English Polychrome painted Chair of George III style,in the Manner of Thomas Sheraton , recently reupholstered in Yozakura fabric , by Robert Kime. The shield backs to over stuffed seats, on square tapering legs to spade feet.
Robert Kime Fabric ‘Yozakura’ or night cherry flower celebrates the Japanese symbolism of cherry blossoms indicating a time of renewal and the fleeting nature of life. Inspired by a fragment originating from the Edo period, this style of cotton print was traditionally used to make ‘Hakama’, a type of Japanese trouser.
