A fine pair of Louis XVI period, 18th century French painted fauteuils with gendarme hat backs with curved armrest on fluted legs recently reupholstered by us in a Mallorcan Ikat.
Both armchairs stamped underneath C.J.V.M de P.F JEAN, sculptor’s mark F.O.
C.J.V.M corresponds to Claude JAVOY, carpenter received Master on September 29, 1779 and Paul François JEAN in 1784.
