Fine Pair of Early C19th French Empire Period Chairs Stamped JACOB.D.R.MESLEE

A good pair of early 19th century French Empire period chairs in carved and lacquered white and gilded beech, with gondola backs highlighted with mouldings and water-gilt with Havana leather upholstery. The front legs are tapered and ringed, ending in gilded feet with sabre -shaped back legs. Both chairs stamped

The Jacob D Rue Meslée stamp was used by Georges Jacob and François Honoré Georges from 1803 to 1813.
