An elegant French Hepplewhite Revival satinwood sofa in the Sheraton taste, dating from circa 1900.
The finely proportioned bow-fronted frame displays the light, refined character associated with late 18th-century English design, interpreted here in a sophisticated French revival piece and recently reupholstered by us in Schumacher Yangtze River – Jade, a beautiful linen chinoiserie print depicting idyllic scenes of life along the Yangtze River. The fabric’s soft jade palette and intricate decoration complement the warm tones of the satinwood particularly well.
