Mid-Century French Mahogany Semainier in the Directoire Taste

A well proportioned French semainier dating from the 1970s/ 1980s, inspired by the elegant simplicity of the Directoire period.

Constructed in finely figured mahogany veneers, this practical piece features seven generously sized drawers, each retaining its original brass drop handles with decorative backplates. The clean architectural lines, understated moulded detailing and tapering legs with brass-capped feet embody the restrained elegance synonymous with Directoire design.

Designed as a practical weekly chest, the semainier offers excellent storage within a remarkably compact footprint, making it an ideal choice for a bedroom, dressing room or entrance hall.This elegant piece will work well in either traditional or contemporary interiors.
