19th Century Italian Polychrome Carved Wood Crib/ Planter with Dolphin Supports

A wonderful 19th century Italian polychrome decorated, carved wood crib / planter, with dolphin supports in the shape of a boat, painted with classical figural scenes to the sides. Suspended between opposing dolphin-form uprights and set on a scrolled moulded plinth raised on four splayed legs.

Original paint (with minimal retouches) This piece will make a great planter / champagne chiller.
