19th Century Mahogany Library Table

A fine and elegant 19th century mahogany library table, of impressive circular form, constructed in richly figured mahogany and mahogany veneers. The circular top is inset with a black leather writing surface.

The broad frieze is fitted with five graduated drawers, each retaining its original brass knob and individually numbered, offering generous storage while preserving the table’s balanced proportions. The table is supported by an architectural central baluster pedestal issuing four elegant console legs, each terminating in finely cast gilt bronze acanthus sabots with original brass castors. Four turned columns rise from the legs to support the underside of the top, lending both structural strength and visual elegance.
