Wonderful 19th Century Italian Rustic Farm Table in Pine

A substantial 19th-century Italian pine refectory table of exceptional rustic character, retaining a beautifully timeworn surface with rich honey and tobacco-toned patina. The two-plank top displays naturally undulating edges, age-related shrinkage, historic repairs, and honest wear, all contributing to its remarkable authenticity.

The table stands on splayed trestle-style end supports united by a robust central stretcher with diagonal braces, creating a strong architectural silhouette while ensuring excellent stability. Hand-worked construction throughout, together with the irregularities of the timber and original tool marks, exemplify the craftsmanship of rural Italian furniture.

Wonderfully proportioned, it offers a highly decorative presence while remaining entirely practical.

Very good antique condition, commensurate with age and use. The top exhibits expected historic shrinkage, surface wear, old repairs, small losses, inactive worming, and minor movement to the boards. The base is structurally sound with an outstanding untouched surface and excellent colour throughout.
