A late 19th century framed embroidery badge of the Gloucestershire regiment. Sphinx “Egypt” Gloucestershire. This badge would have its origin after the glorious acts of war of the regiment in 1801 during its confrontation with Napoleon’s army of the East during the battle of Alexandria (Egypt).
