Large Mid 20th Cent Hand Painted Zebras by Roger Desserprit

A large mid 20th century French painting on fabric depicting five zebras by Roger Desserprit. Signed and dated 1969.

Roger Desserprit was born in 1923 and died in 1985. Student at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. In 1950, he exhibited at Colette Allendy, a Parisian gallery known for its avant-garde choices, as well as at the Salons des Réalités Nouvelles. All of Paris enthusiastically approved this new plastic. He draws his hands with form relationships that evoke cubism and stem from an abstract aesthetic of geometric type resulting from neoplasticism. His work will remain as one of the most original and relevant of our time.
