18th Century Spanish Altar Front

A very decorative 18th century Spanish Altar front in carved and polychrome wood
The piece presents a rectangular structure and is resolved in late-baroque language. Carved and gilded elements are combined with paint that simulates different types of marbled marble. A cross with a flamboyant start is inscribed in a tondo with a grooved profile. The sides have pilasters topped with vegetal corbels, carved in the form of scrolls. Rhomboidal mouldings decorate the flanks. The top has a projecting profile, and a moulded plinth decorates the lower part of the front.
Ideal as a console table .
