The Martini table was born somewhere in the early 19th century when the cocktail hour became a daily ritual. The martini tables evolved from the occasional tables of the 18th century. There are quite a few Spanish martini table designs available from the late 19th century. The round ones which usually had a small round top mounted on a thin long pole standing on three legs. Then there are very elegant looking gilded metal tables in ornate designs. You also have options with a rectangular top and a space to hold magazines.
